Terms of Participation

1.1 Participation in the KX3 Scouting Combine is strictly by registration through the official KX3 platform.

1.2 All applicants must provide complete, accurate, and truthful information during registration.

1.3 KX3 reserves the right to reject, suspend, or cancel any registration that contains false, misleading, or incomplete information.

1.4 Registration does not guarantee selection into the Combine, Draft, League, or any KX3 competition.

To participate in the KX3 Scouting Combine, applicants must:

• Be at least 16 years of age on the day of the Combine (participants under 18 must provide written parental or guardian consent).
• Be legally eligible to participate in sporting activities within Kenya.
• Be physically fit and medically capable of participating in competitive basketball.
• Complete all required registration documentation before the stated deadline.
• Comply with all KX3 rules, policies, and codes of conduct.

KX3 reserves the right to verify eligibility at any stage of the registration process.

The KX3 Scouting Combine is designed to evaluate each participant's overall basketball ability, athletic performance, and professionalism.

Participants may be assessed on:

• Basketball fundamentals
• Ball handling
• Shooting accuracy
• Defensive ability
• Passing
• Court vision
• Athleticism
• Speed and agility
• Vertical jump
• Strength and endurance
• Basketball IQ
• Communication
• Teamwork
• Leadership
• Coachability
• Discipline
• Sportsmanship
• Attitude and professionalism

KX3 reserves the right to determine the assessment format, evaluation criteria, and final selection decisions. The decisions of the KX3 evaluation panel are final.

Participants are responsible for bringing their own equipment. Each participant must provide:

• Basketball shoes suitable for indoor or outdoor courts as instructed
• Athletic shorts
• Sports jersey or training shirt
• Sports socks
• Water bottle
• Towel
• Any approved protective equipment required for participation

Participants must wear suitable basketball attire throughout the Combine. Jewelry, watches, or unsafe accessories must not be worn during assessments. Failure to wear appropriate sportswear may result in exclusion from participation.

Each participant is solely responsible for all expenses related to attending the Combine, including but not limited to:

• Transport
• Accommodation
• Meals
• Medical expenses
• Insurance
• Personal equipment
• Other incidental costs

Unless expressly stated by KX3, no reimbursement shall be provided.

During the Combine, KX3 may photograph, film, livestream, record, and otherwise capture participants. Content may include photos, videos, interviews, audio recordings, match footage, training sessions, and behind-the-scenes content.

KX3 may publish this content through the official KX3 Website, YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, X (Twitter), broadcast television, streaming platforms, marketing campaigns, and future promotional materials.

By participating, you grant KX3 a worldwide, perpetual, royalty-free, non-exclusive license to use your name, image, likeness, voice, and performance for promotional, commercial, editorial, archival, and educational purposes. Participants shall not be entitled to any compensation for such use.

Participation in the Combine does not guarantee:

• Selection into KX3
• Draft eligibility
• Team placement
• Professional contracts
• Sponsorship opportunities

Successful participants will be contacted using the details provided during registration. All selection decisions made by KX3 are final.

Participants must:

• Treat officials, coaches, staff, volunteers, referees, sponsors, media personnel, and fellow participants with respect.
• Follow all instructions issued by KX3 officials.
• Demonstrate professionalism and sportsmanship.
• Respect facilities and equipment.
• Avoid abusive, discriminatory, threatening, or violent behaviour.
• Refrain from cheating or dishonest conduct.
• Avoid the use of illegal drugs, alcohol, or prohibited performance-enhancing substances during the event.

KX3 reserves the right to immediately disqualify any participant who:

• Provides false registration information.
• Violates these Terms.
• Fails to follow instructions from KX3 officials.
• Engages in abusive or threatening behaviour.
• Uses offensive language.
• Damages property.
• Commits acts of violence.
• Displays unsportsmanlike conduct.
• Endangers the safety of others.
• Fails mandatory assessments.
• Is found using prohibited substances.
• Brings the KX3 brand into disrepute.

Disqualified participants may be removed from the venue without refund or compensation. KX3 may also suspend or permanently ban participants from future events.

Participants confirm that they are medically fit to participate, do not suffer from any medical condition that would make participation unsafe, will disclose any relevant medical conditions before the event, and understand basketball is a physically demanding contact sport.

KX3 may require participants to complete a medical questionnaire, undergo fitness screening, or provide medical clearance where necessary. Participants are responsible for obtaining appropriate medical and accident insurance.

Participation in basketball carries inherent risks, including sprains, fractures, concussions, muscle injuries, permanent disability, and death. By participating, you voluntarily assume all risks associated with the Combine.

To the fullest extent permitted under Kenyan law, KX3, its directors, employees, officials, volunteers, partners, sponsors, and affiliates shall not be liable for any injury, loss, damage, or claim arising from participation, except where liability cannot legally be excluded.

Participants are solely responsible for safeguarding their personal belongings. KX3 accepts no responsibility for lost property, theft, damage, or misplaced equipment. Participants are advised not to bring valuables to the venue.

KX3 reserves the right to change the venue, change dates, modify schedules, alter assessment formats, or cancel or postpone the Combine. Such changes may occur due to severe weather, safety concerns, government directives, venue issues, public health emergencies, technical failures, force majeure events, or any circumstances beyond KX3's reasonable control.

KX3 shall not be liable for travel, accommodation, or other expenses resulting from such changes.

Participants may withdraw from the Combine at any time by notifying KX3 in writing. Failure to attend after confirming participation may affect eligibility for future KX3 events or combines.

KX3 collects and processes personal information in accordance with the Data Protection Act, 2019 (Kenya), applicable Kenyan laws, and the KX3 Privacy Policy.

Personal information may be used for registration, player identification, competition management, safety and emergency purposes, media and promotional activities, statistical analysis, and communication regarding KX3 events. KX3 will take reasonable measures to protect personal data.

Participants must compete fairly and honestly. The use of illegal performance-enhancing substances is strictly prohibited. KX3 reserves the right to investigate suspected violations and impose sanctions, including suspension or permanent exclusion.

These Terms shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Kenya. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of Kenya.

By registering for or participating in the KX3 Scouting Combine, you confirm that:

• You have read and understood these Terms of Participation.
• You agree to comply with all KX3 rules, regulations, and policies.
• You voluntarily assume the risks associated with participation.
• You consent to the collection and use of your personal information as outlined in these Terms.
• You agree to the recording and use of your image, likeness, and performance by KX3 for promotional and operational purposes.
